Over eight million people joined more than 3,300 “No Kings” protests, marking the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history, organisrs claimed.
The nationwide wave targeted President Donald Trump’s second-term policies on immigration, the escalating Iran conflict, and perceived executive overreach.
Coordinated by the No Kings Coalition, the events spanned all 50 states and extended internationally, echoing two prior major mobilisations since Trump’s January 2025 inauguration.
Protesters decried aggressive ICE enforcement, fears of war with Iran, and accusations of corruption, chanting slogans like “No Kings, No Dictators, No Trump” in cities including New York, Chicago, and Minnesota hubs.
In Minnesota, thousands rallied with high-profile speakers like Sen. Bernie Sanders and performers including Bruce Springsteen, Jane Fonda, and Robert De Niro.
Aerial footage from San Francisco’s foggy Ocean Beach captured about 5,000 demonstrators forming a massive 600-foot human banner spelling “TRUMP MUST GO NOW,” flanked by U.S. flags and messages such as “No ICE Wars, No Lies, No Kings.”
The protests highlighted deep divisions, with Trump allies questioning funding sources—pointing to figures like George Soros—amid claims of foreign interference.
One online reaction noted the irony: the anti-Trump unrest mirrors Trump’s past calls for Iranian regime change through public demonstrations.
