Nigerian superstar, David Adeleke alias Davido has revealed how he played a pivotal role in shifting brand dominance in Nigeria’s beverage market, proudly stating, “I chased Hennessy out of Nigeria.”

Speaking in a recent interview, Davido detailed his success in securing major brand partnerships with global companies Puma and Martell.
Davido, who is the face of Martell’s latest campaign celebrating Afrobeats, underlined the significance of his deal with the cognac brand.
He said, “What excites me the most is how real the message is. Martell is all about audacity and doing things differently, which is exactly how I’ve lived my life and built my career.
“This campaign is a perfect reflection of that energy – being fearless and owning your journey. It’s a big vibe”.
Highlighting his impact on the market, Davido bragged about how his influence helped Martell gain ground over the previously dominant Hennessy brand in Nigeria. “I was instrumental in chasing Hennessy out of Nigeria,” he said confidently.
Beyond beverages, Davido also boasts partnerships with Puma and other major brands, showcasing his broad appeal and business acumen.
“The people that worked in PUMA Nigeria all got promoted,” Davido added, emphasising his impact.
