Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for the 2023 presidential election, has announced his plan to run for president once more in 2027.

In an interview with Channels TV Obi dismissed speculation that he would accept a position as the running mate for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other contender.

When questioned about the possibility of being Atiku’s running mate in the upcoming 2027 election, Obi stated, “This is not in play; nobody has ever discussed that. People assume so many things. Nobody has ever discussed with me whether I am going to be A or B or C.

“I’m going to contest for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I believe I am qualified for it.”
