19-year-old TikTok sensation, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has begged for forgiveness from fans and Nigerians following a dramatic livestreamed breakdown on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that sparked fears of a suicide attempt.

Peller, visibly emotional, posted a video statement saying, “But I have to know, everybody. I’m sorry for everything that happened in my life. Everything I do. Please. I am very sorry. I let emotions get into me. That’s why I did it. I am so sorry.” He continued, “Please guys, please forgive me. I’m very sorry for this. Don’t bully Jarvis. Leave her. It’s not concerning it to you people. Please don’t do anything bad.” The apology comes days after Dailyeconomy reported on December 14 that Peller livestreamed himself sobbing uncontrollably behind the wheel of his new Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV. The video showed him hyperventilating and pleading amid heavy sobs, early on crying out, “I’m scared. I’m really scared! Ah, God… I no fit do this again.” As tears streamed down his face and the car swerved into a ditch, he shouted at his girlfriend Jarvis, “Jarvis, why you dey do me like this? I give you everything! I wan kpai (kill) myself!” Peller wrapped up his apology with, “I’m sorry Nigerians, please I’m sorry, I will never do that again. I’m very sorry please, for now, I am on medication, once I’m done with my medication, I will be back online. God bless all of us. God bless all of you.” The incident has drawn widespread concern online, with many urging support for the young influencer’s mental health amid the backlash.
