Opening the conference at the National Judicial Institute, he stated, “No amount of reform can succeed if integrity is compromised.”
He highlighted that public confidence is the “living measure of the Judiciary’s legitimacy and the true currency of justice.”
Addressing concerns about delays and perceived lack of integrity, Tinubu said, “These perceptions, whether wholly justified or not, cannot be ignored. They call upon us to reflect, to reform, and to restore.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment, “We cannot build a just society without a fearless and functional Judiciary.”
The President also stressed judicial welfare and modernization, “Technology is no longer a luxury; it is a necessity,” promising support for digitization and infrastructure upgrades to improve efficiency and transparency.
Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun praised the President’s dedication, saying, “The temple of Justice trembles where justice is denied. We must be a symbol of incorruptible honour,” and affirmed the conference’s role in strengthening judicial ethics and public trust.
