Iran has initiated a series of missile attacks on key United States military installations across the Persian Gulf, targeting bases in Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Kuwait.
Videos shared widely on social media capture the initial moments of the assault on the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters at Naval Support Activity Bahrain.
Rooftop footage shows bright flashes followed by massive explosions and thick plumes of smoke rising from the facility, confirming direct hits in the opening salvos.
A separate image depicts heavy smoke billowing over structures near Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, a major hub hosting U.S. Air Force assets, with reports indicating Iranian missiles struck the site hosting American troops.
The strikes come amid heightened U.S.-Israel retaliatory actions against Iranian targets, escalating a volatile regional conflict.
Additional footage purports to show impacts at U.S. facilities in Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base and Kuwait’s Camp Arifjan.
Pentagon officials confirmed “incoming threats” and activated defensive measures, including Patriot missile interceptors, but acknowledged some projectiles penetrated airspace.
Iranian state media claimed the barrage as a “defensive response” to recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on its nuclear and military sites.
Regional airspace has been shuttered, with commercial flights diverted and emergency protocols enacted.
The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain urged American citizens to shelter in place as the situation develops rapidly.
