Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has issued an ultimatum to neighbouring Gulf countries on Tuesday, linking an end to Iranian missile strikes with the removal of American military bases from their soil.
In a video clip circulating widely amid heightened regional tensions, Larijani states, “If neighbouring Gulf countries want the current situation to be resolved, they must clear the American bases in their respective countries.
“Missiles will keep raining until this commitment is actualised.”
He added, “When we said Iran will drive the US out of the middle East, these are the emerging dynamics.”
The remarks come as Iran intensifies retaliatory missile launches targeting US facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and even Cyprus, following recent US-Israeli attacks on Iranian targets.
Larijani’s statement underscores Tehran’s strategy to exploit regional divisions, with Gulf states facing mounting domestic and international scrutiny over hosting US forces.
