Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States and Israel of committing war crimes in a 27-day “illegal war” that has ravaged Iranian schools and civilians.

“Distinguished delegates, Shajarat Hayeb Elementary School has not been the only casualty of American-Israeli atrocity crimes during the past 27 days of their illegal war,” Araghchi said.

He lambasted the campaign for its “unprecedentedly brutal manner,” adding, “Human rights and international humanitarian law have been massively and systematically violated by the invaders.”

The minister detailed the devastation, “More than 600 schools have been demolished or damaged across Iran, and more than 1,000 students and teachers martyred or wounded as a result.”

Araghchi charged that “they are targeting civilians and civilian infrastructures with no regard for laws.”

Central to his address was the March 2 bombing of the Minab girls’ school (Shajarat Hayeb), which Iranian reports say killed 165.
