The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Brig. Gen. Ebrahim Zolfaghari has said private residences of U.S. and Israeli commanders and political officials across the Middle East are “legitimate targets.”
The threat comes as direct retaliation for recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian leaders’ homes and families.
Speaking in a video statement circulated widely on Iranian state media, Zolfaghari invoked religious framing, “In the name of God, in response to the malice and American-Zionist enemies, residential homes of the Iranian Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic —in a retaliatory move, American and Zionist regime officials in the region and their homes—victory comes only from God.”
The declaration spotlights the personal dimension of the conflict, moving beyond traditional battlefields.
It follows Operation Epic Fury, a joint U.S.-Israel military campaign launched in late February 2026.
In its first month, the operation has targeted over 10,000 Iranian military sites, killing more than 1,000 combatants—including senior Quds Force commanders—while destroying missile stockpiles and transforming Iran’s proxy wars into open aerial confrontations.
Financial markets reacted swiftly, with gold prices surging 1.25% to $4,614 per ounce amid the heightened regional tensions.
