Israel has carried out airstrikes in Doha, Qatar, targeting senior members of Hamas’s political bureau in what it described as a “precise operation.”

Explosions were reported near the Woqod petrol station on Wadi Rawdan Street, close to the West Bay Lagoon district, with verified footage showing smoke rising from a damaged complex.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said 15 fighter jets fired 10 precision munitions at a single target, aimed at Hamas’s “senior leadership.”

Israeli media reported that exiled leaders Khalil al-Hayya, the group’s chief negotiator, and Zaher Jabarin, a senior West Bank figure, were among those targeted, though their fate remains uncertain.

Hamas confirmed the deaths of five members in the strike but said its negotiating team survived. The group also claimed a Qatari security officer was killed.

Qatar’s Interior Ministry later identified the victim as Warrant Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al-Humaidi Al-Dosari of the internal security force, Lekhwiya. Several other security personnel were reported injured.

Qatar, which has hosted Hamas’s political bureau since 2012, has played a central role in mediating ceasefire efforts in Gaza following the October 7 attacks.

The strike came just days after Hamas said it was reviewing a US-backed truce proposal involving the release of 48 hostages in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel.
