Mayor Eitan Davidi of Margaliot broke down, venting his frustration over relentless Hezbollah rocket attacks that have battered his border town.
The outburst came days after a March 24, 2026, barrage where Hezbollah fired over 90 rockets and drones at northern Israel, killing 27-year-old resident Nuriel Dubin in Margaliot and wounding several others.
Speaking in Hebrew with visible agitation, Davidi gestured emphatically, his voice rising to anguished cries.
“How many rounds? We are fighting for the home,” he began.
“We do everything we can here, but there is no other country after you and to succeed you need a state! It’s impossible alone.”
He then turned his fury toward the government’s handling of nearby Kiryat Shmona: “You also have Kiryat Shmona. You’ve destroyed Kiryat Shmona, You’ve already destroyed it all!”
Davidi’s plea peaked in desperation, “What are you doing? what are you doing Lord of the Universe what are you doing?! Either admit you’re unable to handle the situation and release us or that we will do what is necessary. Lord of the Universe, for the love of God!”
This highlights the mounting pressure on residents of northern Israeli communities amid ongoing cross-border exchanges with Hezbollah.
