The event focused on Harris’s recently published memoir, 107 Days, which details her political path, challenges faced, and insights on democracy.
Reflecting on her experiences, Harris discussed the personal growth she encountered through her campaign and time in office.
When asked if she had discovered new qualities about herself, she underscored the difficult nature of breaking barriers, offering a metaphor that resonated deeply.
“Here’s the thing about breaking barriers,” Harris said.
“And I mentor a lot of people. So sometimes I just say to them, you know, what do you think breaking barriers is — that you start on one side of the barrier and you end up on the other side? No, there’s breaking involved. And when you break things, you get cut, and you may bleed. And it is worth it every single time.”
