The governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Communication, Ibraheem Abdullateef, confirmed on Thursday that “At least 15 bandits/kidnappers were reportedly neutralised by combined government security forces after a fierce gun battle on Monday night.”
This operation according to him took place near the Kogi border with Kwara State and was in response to the unfortunate incident at Oke Ode on Sunday.
Abdullateef added, “More operations in the work to put sustained pressure on their hideouts,” highlighting the government’s commitment to a sustained crackdown.
Additionally, Governor AbdulRazaq held “an emergency security briefing with Kwara South monarchs in Ajase-Ipo on the multi-layered approach of KWSG & Office of the NSA to bolster the safety of the people and properties in the state.”
