In a bid to strengthen security efforts after a brutal assault on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) service in Eruku, Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urgently called on President Bola Tinubu to approve additional deployment of security operatives in the affected area.

Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication, Ibraheem Abdullateef, stated on Wednesday, “In order to fortify the ongoing security operations, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve the deployment of more security operatives in Eruku axis, a community bordering Egbe, in Kogi State.”
The combined forces of the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, and local vigilantes have intensified their operations to root out the criminal elements responsible for the “dastard attacks on CAC Oke Isegun, Eruku.”
Abdullateef added, “The Governor said he is fully committed to providing all the support to tackle the challenges.”
The attack took place on Tuesday evening during a church service that was being live-streamed, sending waves of terror through the congregation. Armed terrorists opened fire on worshippers, killing and abducting several people inside the church.
Disturbing live footage reveals the moment the assailants stormed the church, causing panic and chaos.
Kwara State Police Command confirmed that at least two people were killed and one injured in the attack.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said, “The Kwara State Police Command confirms an attempted bandit attack in Eruku, which occurred at about 18:00 hours of today, 18th November, 2025.”
She noted that police and vigilantes quickly responded, causing the attackers to flee.
