In a statement on Friday via his X handle, Wahab highlighted, “A team from @Lawma_gov has commenced full clearance operations at Cane Village, Mende after @LAGESCOfficial dislodged the miscreants and illegal traders under the bridge.”
He underscored that “All illegal shanties, makeshift structures, and waste deposits are being cleared to restore order and environmental sanity in the area.”
This action is part of an ongoing effort by Lagos State to “secure public infrastructure and prevent the return of squatters who had converted the underbelly of the bridge into homes and shops,” reinforcing the commitment to a cleaner and greater Lagos.
