In a video posted on social media, the commissioner detailed the ongoing efforts, captioning it, “Continuation of clearance of backlog along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway is ongoing.

“The operation commenced from Volks and has now progressed to the Agric Bus Stop, as we intensify efforts to remove accumulated waste and environmental infractions along the corridor.”

Motorists and residents welcomed the move, which addresses long-standing complaints about illegal dumping and roadside obstructions hampering traffic flow.

The initiative forms part of broader state efforts to maintain cleanliness on key highways.

The commissioner emphasised the campaign’s goals, stating, “This exercise is part of our sustained commitment to keeping major highways clean, improving traffic flow, and safeguarding public health and the environment.

“We will continue to cover the entire stretch to ensure lasting cleanliness and order along the axis.”

Hashtagged #CleanerLagos, the operation signals Lagos government’s renewed push against environmental degradation amid the festive season’s heightened activity.
