After a 24-hour notice to vacate was given to illegal ram traders occupying the road median at Alaba Rago, a coordinated cleanup initiative has begun by the joint teams of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

This enforcement operation started right after the notice lapsed, with the goal of reinstating order and enhancing cleanliness along this heavily trafficked stretch.

This information was made known in a statement on Monday by the Lagos Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

It reads, “Following a 24-hours vacation notice given to illegal traders selling rams on the road median at Alaba Rago, the joint operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial and the Lagos Waste Management Agency #Lawma_gov commenced the cleanup of the entire road median.

“This exercise will be followed by a standby monitoring and enforcement team to ensure that sanity is restored to this area.”
