The Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Thursday shared a video showing the demolition of houses obstructing the drainage channel along Airport Road.

He emphasised the purpose behind the action, stating, “Work is ongoing along the Airport Road channel to restore the right of way of water and ensure smooth flow across the drainage corridor.”
He further explained that “structures built directly on the water path are being removed as part of the State Government’s continuous efforts to address flooding, protect lives, and safeguard critical infrastructure.”
These measures align with Lagos State’s commitment to create a #CleanerLagos and #GreaterLagos by improving drainage and minimising flood risks for residents.
