Lagos State has launched a high-impact enforcement operation targeting environmental violations and illegal activities in the Boundary, Ajegunle, and Apapa axis, involving multiple security agencies.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the initiative in a statement on Friday.

“Today, we commenced a joint enforcement operation at Boundary, Ajegunle, Apapa axis, in collaboration with Navy NNS Beecroft, the Lagos State Task Force, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies,” Wahab stated.

The crackdown aims to reclaim public spaces plagued by sanitation issues and safety threats. Wahab emphasized its broader goals: “The operation is part of our coordinated effort to restore environmental order, secure public spaces and address activities that threaten sanitation, safety and lawful use of critical corridors within Apapa and its environs.”

He further highlighted the power of teamwork in sustaining progress.

“Inter-agency collaboration remains key to achieving lasting environmental compliance and public safety,” the commissioner added.

“We will continue to work closely with all security agencies to ensure that our communities remain clean, orderly and secure.”

The effort aligns with ongoing pushes for a #CleanerLagos and #GreaterLagos.
