Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has announced the commencement of a demolition exercise targeting illegal structures within the Lekki Free Trade Zone.

Posting an implementation video on X, Wahab emphasised the collaborative effort with the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to restore environmental order.
In his statement, Wahab highlighted the focus of the operation stating, “The exercise is focused on addressing environmental infractions along Akodo Road, where ongoing road construction works are currently being disrupted by these illegal developments.”
The operation is being supported by the Mobile Police Unit 47 (MOPOL 47) to ensure smooth enforcement.
Using the hashtag #ZeroToleranceLagos, the commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance and protecting public infrastructure from unauthorized encroachments.
