The closure according to a statement on Thursday by the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, follows an inspection that revealed serious unhygienic conditions and multiple violations of environmental laws at the facility.

The Commissioner stated, “During our inspection of the abattoir facility, we have announced indefinite closure of Oko Oba Abattoir, Agege over unhygienic practices and violating different environmental laws.”

This action underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to enforcing strict environmental regulations and ensuring the safety of its residents.
