Video: LAWMA apprehends six for unlawful waste disposal

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has taken six individuals into custody for haphazardly dumping trash on a road median.

The arrests were made during a late-night enforcement operation in the Egbeda-Akowonjo area on Wednesday night.
Lagos Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, reported that those arrested are Sulaiman Aminu, Ige Abayomi, Morufat Babalola, Madu Chiamaka, Nuratu Mohammed, and Grace Ogah.
The statement says, “During the late night operation yesterday, LAWMA Enforcement Team at Egbeda Akowonjo arrested 6 individuals for dumping refuse on the median.
“Mr Sulaiman Aminu – 20yrs, Mr Ige Abayomi – 45yrs, Mrs Morufat Babalola – 40yrs, Mrs Madu Chiamaka – 23yrs, Miss Nuratu Mohammed- 20yrs, Mrs Grace Ogah – 35yrs.
“All suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the relevant law of the state.”
