The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has initiated a clearance operation at an illegal dump site behind 68, Oduntan Street, Ketu.

The state commissioner for Environment and Water Resources Tokunbo Wahab, who confirmed the operation on Saturday wrote, “Our LAWMA enforcement team is currently conducting clearance operations at an illegal dump site located behind 68, Oduntan Street, Ketu. This morning’s action targets an unauthorized waste disposal area that has been causing environmental hazards in the neighborhood.”
The operation involves the removal of accumulated waste, with plans to implement stricter surveillance to prevent future illegal dumping.
Residents have been urged to adhere to Lagos State environmental laws and avoid illegal waste disposal practices.
Wahab further reminded the public, “Residents are reminded that illegal dumping violates Lagos State environmental laws and endangers public health. To report waste violations in your area, contact @Lawma_gov immediately.”
