The MD further noted that the malaria insurance pilot program focuses initially on air conditioners, with plans to extend coverage to refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, and TVs.

“We got a very fantastic feedback about 7% of the customer data got infected. It means this much malaria disease is very serious,” he said.

Jumoke Odunlami, Chief Distribution Officer and Director of AXA Mansard, in her remarks praised the partnership stressing, “It is very good that it is a focus area for us today talking about malaria. Odunlami stressed the urgent need for increased insurance penetration in Nigeria: “Nigeria is a country of over 240 million people, but we have less than 10% of people who have insurance coverage. With this scheme, we expect that it will accelerate, everyone will have a form of cover.”
