Video: Makinde renames Ibadan Polytechnic in tribute to late former governor Olunloyo

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has revealed that The Polytechnic Ibadan will be renamed to honour the late Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of the state.

The governor shared this news during a short speech at an interdenominational service held in remembrance of Olunloyo at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan.

Makinde underscored that Olunloyo, who recently passed away, was the founding rector of the institution.

Makinde said, “Allow me just say this, today, we are also giving Baba another honour.

“As the first rector of Polytechnic Ibadan, that institution will now be named Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.”

In appreciation of his significant contributions to education and the state, the institution will now be officially called Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
