Video: “Manage your country if you’re capable,” Khamenei blasts Trump over Iran protests Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has unleashed a rebuke against United States President Donald Trump amid escalating anti-government protests rocking Tehran and other cities. In a video clip shared on his official social media handle, Khamenei accused rioters of “causing self-destructive damage” during economic unrest and directly dismissed Trump’s supportive comments and threats of intervention. The footage, released as reports emerged of over 100 protest-related deaths and widespread internet blackouts, reinforces Tehran’s narrative of external meddling by the US and Israel. Khamenei mocked Trump’s stance, quoting him as saying the US would side with protesters if the Iranian government overreacted. “If you’re so capable, manage your own country,” said Khamenei. He added, “The US President has said that if the Iranian government does such-&-such, I’ll take the side of the rioters. The rioters have put their hopes in him. If he’s so capable, he should manage his own country.” In a separate post, Khamenei shared a 2.7-minute video tracing U.S. hostility toward Iran back to the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He claimed Iran reclaimed control of its oil, minerals, and vast lands from “American and Zionist dominance,” drawing parallels to U.S. interventions in Latin America for resource extraction. These posts come amid heightened US-Iran tensions, with protesters demanding economic reforms and an end to repression. Dailyeconomy had earlier reported that Trump issued a warning to Iran’s regime amid massive anti-government protests, stating the US stands ready to strike “very hard” if authorities resort to violence against “unarmed demonstrators”.
