Mohbad’s family, including his wife and young son, Liam, took the stage to accept the award on his behalf, receiving a heartfelt standing ovation from the audience.
In addition to the Street-Hop win, Mohbad’s collaboration with singer Chike, titled “Egwu,” won the Headies Viewers’ Choice Award. The late artist also earned multiple posthumous nominations, including Best Collaboration and Afrobeats Single of the Year for “Egwu.”
Mohbad’s awards and nominations highlight the lasting impact of his music and the deep void his passing has left in the Nigerian music industry.
