United States President Donald Trump hosted a lavish White House dinner on Tuesday for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where guests included Portuguese soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and billionaire Elon Musk.

During his pre-dinner remarks, Trump shared a personal note, “You know, my son is a big fan of Ronaldo,” highlighting that his 19-year-old son Barron had even met the football legend.

The president added with a smile, “I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you.”

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, took a seat near the head of the table.

With his contract expiring this summer, the 40-year-old hinted at the twilight of his career, saying the upcoming 2026 World Cup “would definitely” be his last.

Portugal secured qualification just last Sunday.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino was also present, adding to the event’s significance ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which the US will co-host.
