She noted that her comeback aligns with a recent court ruling.

During a training program in her constituency, Akpoti-Uduaghan informed journalists about her decision.

She mentioned that her suspension has limited her ability to fulfill her legislative duties.

The lawmaker confirmed that she has formally notified the Senate in writing about her plans to resume.

Despite the ongoing controversy related to the ruling from the Abuja Federal High Court, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she will be back in the Senate chamber on Tuesday.

She remarked, “I have written to the senate again, telling them that I’m resuming on the 22nd, which is on Tuesday. I will be there because the court did make a decision on that. They argue that it is not an order, but it is a decision, and if you look at Section 318 of the Nigerian Constitution, it did mention that a recommendation forms part of the decision of the court.

“I have pretty much two months more before the six months expire. However, I have written to the Senate again telling them that I’m resuming on the 22nd, which is on Tuesday, by the special grace of God.

“I will be there, because the court did make the decision on that.”
