According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA Director of Media & Advocacy, the syndicate was run by Deji Adesanya and Olubiyi Majekodunmi, who packaged a strong cannabis strain called Canadian Loud in colorful designer sachets resembling popular snacks.

NDLEA operatives, acting on credible intelligence, raided their Lekki hideout on November 22, recovering 5 kilograms of the drug and the branded packaging.

Babafemi explained, “Operatives of the NDLEA have uncovered and dismantled a social media network used to distribute illicit substances packaged as imported Christmas cookies and snacks.”

In other operations in Lagos, a 38-year-old drug kingpin, Philip Ucheka, was arrested on November 27 with 55.6 kilograms of Canadian Loud.

Additionally, authorities intercepted cannabis concealed in a teddy bear imported from Thailand and tramadol capsules hidden in vitamin bottles bound for the UK.

NDLEA also arrested seven suspects in Ondo State recovering over 3,000 kilograms of skunk cannabis, while individuals carrying large quantities of skunk were apprehended in Kogi and Badagry.

Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), NDLEA Chairman, praised the officers for their successful operations and urged continued commitment to balanced drug control efforts nationwide.
