Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed ambitious plans for a strategic “hexagon” alliance during a cabinet meeting, aiming to unite nations around the Middle East to counter radical influences.

The bloc would link India, Greece, Cyprus, African states, Arab countries, and other Asian partners into a formidable counterweight.

Netanyahu spotlighted Israel’s deepening bond with India, calling it a “global power” and praising his personal ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi: “This week, expression will be given to the special relationship that has been forged over recent years between Israel and the global power that is India, and between myself and its leader, Prime Minister Modi. We are personal friends; we speak frequently on the phone and visit one another.”

He outlined the vision explicitly, “In the vision that we will create a complete, essentially a kind of hexagon alliance around and within (the Middle East).

“This includes India. This includes both African countries in the Mediterranean, Greece, Cyprus, and countries in Asia that I won’t list right now.”

The goal is to tackle “reality challenges, in opposition to both the radical Shiite axis very strongly, to the emerging axis,” with shared perceptions among partners promising “great results.”

This comes ahead of Modi’s planned February 25 visit to address Israel’s Knesset, building on booming defense and tech ties since the Abraham Accords.
