Nollywood actor Ngozi Nwosu has for the first time publicly recounted her traumatic experience with domestic violence during an emotional interview on the Real Life with Aunty Ayo podcast.

Reflecting on the escalation of abuse in her marriage, Nwosu urged victims to refuse to endure repeated violence.

She warned, “When this thing is too much, Omo, you’ve got to move.”

Stressing the danger of tolerating one assault, she said, “If you take it once, forget it. You must be ready to take it for the rest of your life.”

Nwosu disclosed a chilling incident where a routine kitchen visit turned violent.

“That day, I will never forget it. I plaited Bob Marley and he threw me. Honestly, one strand came out with blood,” she revealed.

In a moment of desperation, she recounted arming herself with a pistol: “I didn’t know where I got the strength from. I just picked the pistol. I am telling you, I was ready to kill him that day. I didn’t mind going to jail.”

She described how the weapon pierced the door as her husband dodged, with neighbours witnessing parts of the confrontation seeing her naked.
