A heartbreaking video has emerged online showing a Nigerian widow in tears as she reveals that her late husband’s family in the United States refused her access to his body.

The woman described how his American relatives cited “estate matters” and her lack of U.S. residency papers as reasons to deny her request.

“Immediately after my husband’s death, I called for a family meeting, but none of his family members honoured my invitation, leaving me in the dark,” she said in distress.

Stranded in Nigeria due to an expired tourist visa amid COVID-19 travel delays, the widow explained that returning to the U.S. posed the risk of deportation, further complicating her efforts to see her husband’s remains.

The 2.5-minute video has gone viral, stirring widespread sympathy and outrage on social media.

Many Nigerians in the diaspora are demanding urgent intervention and justice for the grieving widow.
