The directive came during the swearing-in of new commissioners and the inauguration of commissions and boards in Benin on Tuesday.

Okpebholo emphasised the vital role President Tinubu played in his electoral success, stating, “This could not have happened if we did not have a responsible president. We have done many elections here, and the major problem we have had is that the president is not with us, but today we say thank you.”

He insisted on strict adherence to the dress code during official meeting, “I will not forgive any commissioner that is not wearing this cap. In our exco meetings, if you are not wearing a suit and you are coming to the meeting without this Asiwaju cap, you will go back.”

Beyond appearance, the governor urged his commissioners to view their roles as a dedication to serving the people, “Your appointment is not for self-enrichment,” he warned, affirming a zero-tolerance stance on corruption within his administration.
