Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has taken a bold stance ahead of the 2027 presidential election, vowing to abandon his political ambitions if President Bola Tinubu fails to win Edo State.

In an interview with TVC journalist Babajide Otitoju, Okpebholo declared, “I stand before you today with a promise. If our party under President Tinubu does not win Edo State in 2027, I will resign from this race and any future ambition.”

The governor cited his faith in the ruling APC’s reforms and national development agenda as the foundation for his confidence.

His statement arrives amid heightened political competition as the APC seeks to regain ground in Edo, a state where the PDP has held significant sway in recent elections.

Public reaction on social media has been divided: while some applaud Okpebholo’s commitment and belief in the party’s prospects, others remain skeptical about the APC’s chances and whether the governor will fulfill his pledge.
