He urged 10 members to donate N1 billion each, 100 members to give N100 million each, and 1,000 members to contribute N10 million each to support the expansion of the RCCG Campground in Mowe, Ogun State, to accommodate growing attendance.

The appeal, made in a live program and clarified to be for the RCCG Camp Project—not the pastor personally—has stirred diverse reactions on social media.

Some praised the voluntary nature of donations and the vision behind the project, while others criticised the scale of the financial request and questioned the sources of such wealth among congregants.

Comments ranged from defending members’ freedom to donate as they wish to concerns likening the request to “daylight robbery” and skepticism about the legitimacy of donors’ income.

Pastor Adeboye underscored the necessity of the funds due to increasing convention crowds and assured that no one was compelled to give.

He encouraged interested donors to send cheques to the RCCG Camp Project account, not in his name, affirming faith in God’s provision for contributors.
