@dailyeconomy8 Video: Peter Obi should demonstrate empathy before becoming President – Presidency Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication, has criticised Peter Obi and the opposition coalition for their perceived lack of empathy and manipulative behaviour. In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bwala contended that the opposition’s public critiques of the Tinubu administration are not supported by facts, concrete plans, or viable policy alternatives, and largely arise from a lack of substantial issues to discuss. Bwala’s comments were a response to Peter Obi’s recent appearance on the same program, where the former Anambra Governor accused the Tinubu administration of insensitivity, wasteful spending, and failing to address economic difficulties and national challenges. Bwala emphasised that empathy is a personal quality that should be demonstrated by the entire opposition instead of focusing solely on criticising the president. Bwala said, “He said the President didn’t go to Mokwa or Yawata after the attacks. But where was Peter Obi? He talks about empathy — but if he really had it, he wouldn’t need to be President before visiting places in distress. “Why does Peter Obi have to wait till he’s President before he visits Benue. Why will he wait till he becomes President before he shows empathy? Empathy is personal. Where is Peter Obi’s empathy as a person? “One thing about leadership is you have many things and you have to prioritise them. Peter Obi and the entire opposition lack what to talk about as far as what leadership is about. “If he was not in Benue, they’ll say he didn’t go to Benue. Now he was in Benue, they say he didn’t go to Yelewata. None of the opposition has been to Benue since the crisis. They should go to America and see what the opposition is doing.” Follow us for more updates
