In an Instagram video, he expressed his disapproval of depicting Nigerians as “Yahoo Boys” (internet fraudsters) or as “ignorant and uncivilized” villagers.

He underscored that Nigerian youths are “highly sophisticated and intelligent,” with many making significant contributions in various global professional fields.

While acknowledging that there are “bad eggs,” just like in any society, he pointed out that they represent less than 5% of the Nigerian population and called on the media to stop amplifying negative stereotypes.

He stated, “Dear Hollywood and Western media outlets, stop making a mockery of us and spreading false narratives, stereotyping Nigerian princes as yahoo boys and fraudsters, or just an ignorant and uncivilized uncle and aunty from the village.

“My fellow youths and I are highly sophisticated and intelligent, and most of us are hardworking. Statistics currently say Nigerian professionals are making significant contributions across various highly skilled sectors worldwide.

“Yes, we have some bad eggs, just like every one else, but still exaggerating it. It’s obviously not up to 5 percent.”
