The distressing footage has sparked widespread condemnation and outrage across social media.
The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) strongly condemned the act, stating, “This is unacceptable, condemned, and punishable under the law. Kindly look into this, while the relevant command should take necessary action immediately. This abuse must stop”.
The police have vowed to “fish her out”.
Reacting to the statement, the Nigeria Police Force confirmed their awareness of the video, emphasising the gravity of the situation.
“We are aware of this distressing video and are investigating urgently,” the police announced via their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
They further stressed the danger and illegality of the act noting, “Exposing a child to alcohol is illegal and dangerous. We urge members of the public with valuable information that could lead to the swift apprehension of this ‘mother’ to not hesitate to provide same. They can reach out to us on 09169967000.
