The Iranian Revolutionary Guards spokesperson has vowed to halt all oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz benefiting the United States, Israel, or their allies, declaring them “legitimate targets.”

Col. Ali Razmjou, the IRGC spokesperson, stated in a video address, “And let us firmly reiterate that we will never allow even a drop of oil through the Strait of Hormuz for the benefit of America.

“Any vessel or shipment or their allies will be a legitimate target for us.”

The threat comes after Iran partially suspended its own oil exports via the strait earlier this month, triggered by US and Israeli strikes.

This has already led to insurance-driven shipping halts and global trade rerouting.

Razmjou further warned of severe economic fallout, saying, “Prepare for $200 per barrel,” while accusing adversaries of hiding behind regional populations and violating international norms.

He added that Iran’s leadership views prior warnings as a “definitive rejection,” pursuing a “policy of punishment until you are fully punished and regret pretending to be heroes.”

The Strait of Hormuz handles about 20% of the global oil supply.

A full closure could spike prices dramatically, fueling inflation, disrupting supply chains, and deepening the ongoing energy crisis for weeks or months.
