Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux, husband of Nigerian actress Priscilla Ojo, clinched the Best East African Artiste of the Year award at the 17th Headies Awards held in Lagos.

The newlywed couple made a stunning red carpet appearance, marking their first Headies outing as husband and wife.
Juma Jux was nominated alongside top East African artists including Diamond Platnumz and Bruce Melodie.
His win was celebrated widely, with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, Priscilla’s mother, urging fans to vote massively for him and expressing pride in her son-in-law’s achievement.
The Headies 2025 ceremony, themed “Back to Base,” showcased a star-studded lineup and highlighted the richness of African music, with Juma Jux’s victory underscoring his growing influence beyond Tanzania.
