Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced this decision during the final session on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

This customary break is a standard aspect of the National Assembly’s legislative schedule, giving lawmakers the opportunity to focus on constituency activities, oversight responsibilities, and personal commitments.

Speaker Abbas urged members to utilize this time to reconnect with their constituents, address local issues, and oversee ongoing federal projects in their districts.

The recess comes after a fruitful legislative session, which saw significant achievements, including the approval of a $347 million loan for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and a telecommunications access project.

The House also held special tributes to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
