According to the Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications
(Office of The Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President met with Buhari’s family members to express sympathy and solidarity during their time of mourning.

In addition to consoling the family, Shettima also visited Malam Mamman Daura, the late President’s nephew, who is currently recuperating in a London hospital.

The visits come as the Vice President awaits the completion of procedures for the repatriation of former President Buhari’s body to Nigeria.

Shettima was accompanied by key officials including Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Deputy Chief of Staff Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

The statement says, “On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with and condoled with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
