Activist Omoyele Sowore revealed that X (formerly Twitter) officially contacted him regarding what he described as a “threatening letter” they received from the Department of State Services (DSS) over a tweet he posted criticising President Bola Tinubu.

Sowore via his X handle on Sunday stated, “One option I will NOT be taking is deleting that Tweet.”

He further expressed gratitude to X for their support amid the pressure.

Sowore’s controversial tweet included a video of President Tinubu from August 26, accompanied by his critical comment: “This criminal @officialABAT actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly!”

Following this, DSS demanded that X remove the video, describing the post as a national security threat.
