Despite the song’s success, Spyro found himself quickly overlooked, and his efforts to reach out to his collaborators went unanswered as they stopped returning his calls.

In an interview with Hiptv Trending, Spyro reminisced about his feelings of devastation, often finding himself in tears.

He said, “had a song back then and I had David and Mayorkun and I thought my life was about to change. So the song came out and it was big, and all of a sudden I went back down.

“I thought of it, how do you go from working with David and vibing with Mayorkun and all of these big guys and all of a sudden they don’t even pick your calls any more. There were times I’d sit on the staircase and cry.”

He also slammed some gospel artists, accusing them of being driven by financial gain rather than genuine faith in the gospel.

However, Spyro praised Tems, a successful female artist, for her talent and resilience, noting that she is an excellent role model for young ladies and deserves recognition for her achievements in the music industry.

“People that claim to be gospel ministers are just artists. They are just in the business to make money. They’re just like us in the Afrobeat industry. Then there’s a lot of pressure on female artists. Tems is holding out decently. One of the biggest in the world. She has it together, we should put Tems out there for the world to see, for our girls to look up to as role models,” he said.
