Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the representative for Sokoto South, was greeted with a hearty welcome from locals on Thursday following his recent interaction with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Footage shared on his official X account captured large crowds gathering along the streets of Sokoto, enthusiastically cheering as the former governor made his way into the city.

In his accompanying post, Tambuwal conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the support and kindness demonstrated by the community.

He shared on X, “I am deeply grateful to the good people of Sokoto for the warm reception and outpouring of love upon my arrival in Sokoto this afternoon. This is one honour among many that I cherish and will never take for granted.”

Tambuwal was questioned and detained by the EFCC on Monday regarding allegations of fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to N189 billion. He was released on bail the following day.
