Video: Suspected gunmen attack kill driver, abduct wife on Lagos–Ibadan expressway

Early Wednesday morning, suspected gunmen described by witnesses as dressed in Fulani attire attacked a vehicle near Onigari on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

The assailants shot and killed the driver before taking his wife and fleeing the scene, residents and motorists said.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at approximately time not yet confirmed.
The attackers opened fire on the vehicle, causing it to stop.
The driver died on the point, an unknown man sustained fatal gunshot wounds at the scene, while his wife was forced into one of the attackers’ vehicles.
Motorists nearby raised the alarm and alerted local security operatives.
Local residents immediately informed the police and community vigilante groups.
Officers from the nearest divisional station and highway patrol units were reported to have rushed to the area to secure the scene and begin a search for the abducted woman and the suspects.
