Amid Israel’s ongoing strikes on Iran, hundreds of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv on Sunday to voice the frustrations of the country’s anti-war minority, insisting that support for the attacks is far from unanimous.
Chanting slogans like “No more war!” and “Peace now!”, demonstrators waved signs decrying the military campaign against Tehran.
“Not everyone backs these attacks,” one organiser told reporters, predicting the movement would swell as casualties mount and the conflict drags on.
The rally highlighted a deepening divide in Israeli public opinion over the escalating US-Israel-Iran confrontation.
The protest unfolded against a backdrop of intensified hostilities.
Israeli forces struck key oil infrastructure in Tehran earlier today, crippling refining operations and sparking fires visible from space, according to satellite imagery.
US President Donald Trump, in a morning address, signaled readiness for “even stronger action” alongside allies, while fallout rippled across the region – with Hezbollah exchanges in Lebanon and emergency alerts issued in Gulf states fearing retaliatory drone swarms.
Organisers framed the Tel Aviv action as a clarion call for de-escalation, drawing parallels to past anti-war movements.
“This war isn’t ours,” said participant Miriam Levy, a 42-year-old teacher.
“As it continues, more will join us.”
