Posting a clip on X (formally Twitter) Kuku wrote, FAAN MD said, “I’m happy to announce that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the full rehabilitation of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.”

This development aligns with the Federal Government’s plan to refurbish the airport before concessioning, as stated by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

He clarified that the government is sourcing funds for total refurbishment, which will not hinder future concessioning for better management.

FAAN has already taken steps to improve the airport’s infrastructure, including commissioning a refurbished departure terminal and introducing eco-friendly buses to ease passenger mobility. Additionally, urgent runway rehabilitation works have been conducted recently to maintain safety and efficiency at Nigeria’s busiest international gateway.
