President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to reaffirm their dedication to the fundamental ideals of June 12, stressing the importance of freedom, transparency, social justice, and inclusive governance.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, he underscored the lasting importance of June 12, the date of Nigeria’s landmark 1993 presidential election, which is widely celebrated as the most free and fair in the country’s history.
Tinubu stated, “Let us rededicate ourselves to the ideals of June 12; freedom, transparent and accountable government, social justice, active citizen participation, and a just society where no one is oppressed.
“Happy Democracy Day, and may God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and protect our troops.”
